Abstract：

This paper reviews the current trends of the industrial applications of pervaporation and vapor permeation membrane technology briefly. Many industrial application examples of pervaporation and vapor permeation were described in details such as dehydration in the preparation process of ethanol biofuels, dehydration of alcohols, ketones and ethers, esterification intensification by dehydration, dehydration of organic solvent, recovery of organics or VOC in wastewater, as well as separation of organic–organic mixtures. Moreover, the problems and suggestions for the development of pervaporation and vapor permeation membrane technology were proposed as well.
