Abstract: |
|
As a response to the worsening water contamination by algae, the characteristics of individual and integrated process of powdered activated carbon(PAC) and ultrafiltration(UF) for removal Microcystic aeruginosa were respectively studied in the experiment. The results showed that the individual process of PAC was ineffective to remove the algae. Although the process of UF was efficient, and the removal rate could achieve 95%, the problem of membrane fouling was fairly serious. However, the removal rate of PAC-UF integrated process could reach as high as 99.99% when the dosage of PAC was 15 mg/L, which operated stably and effectively alleviated membrane fouling. |
