|
Polypropylene hollow fiber membrane contactors were used for CO2 removal from simulated flue gas with seawater as absorbent. The effects of gas flowrate, CO2 concentration, seawater flowrate, seawater pH and membrane contactor packing fraction on CO2 removal efficiency were investigated. The results showed that increasing flue gas flowrate and CO2 concentration improved CO2 handling capacity for membrane contactor and reduced the CO2 removal efficiency. Increasing seawater flowrate or seawater pH could evidently improve CO2 removal and mass transfer rate, so that directly determined the mechanism for seawater absorbing CO2. Simply increasing packing fraction of membrane contactor could not improve CO2 removal efficiently. Making gas-liquid contact area effective and stable in the membrane contactor was important for promoting membrane gas absorption process. |
