The effect of polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) hollow fiber membrane module parameters (ratio of height to diameter, the packing fraction) for on vacuum membrane distillation (VMD) performance for desalinizing concentrated seawater was studied in this work. VMD performances were developed using the ratio of height to diameter of 25:2, 15:1,35:2, 20:1, 45:2 and the packing fraction of 1%, 5%, 10% membrane modules in the experiment, at the same time VMD performances were developed using the ratio of height to diameter of 10:3, 70:9,10:1 and the packing fraction of 7.11%, 9.48%, 14.22% membrane modules in pilot test. The results showed that VMD flux increased with increasing the ratio of height to diameter or decreasing the packing fraction. The rejection of vacuum membrane distillation production was higher than 99.9% during this process. |
