Abstract: |
|
The performance of nanofiltration(NF) for treatment of strontium-containing radioactive wastewater was investigated using XN45 NF membrane. The effects of the initial strontium concentration, solution pH, ionic strength and complexation phenomena on strontium removal were described. The results indicated that the strontium rejection increased with decreasing initial strontium concentration and ionic strength. In addition, an increase in the solution pH reduced strontium rejection until pH = 5, at which point a further increase in pH increased strontium rejection. In the presence of a complexing agent (PAA or EDTA-2Na), the strontium rejection was generally higher than those obtained without a complexing agent. The strontium rejection reached over 98% under the conditions that [PAA]/[Sr] = 5, pH was greater than 7 or [EDTA-2Na]/[Sr] = 4, pH = 9. |
