Abstract: |
|
Polyether sulfone (PES) microfiltration membranes were modified by Layer-by-layer self-assembly technology. 29.2g/L NaCl was used as the supporting electrolyte. A polyelectrolyte layer of Poly dimethyl diallyl ammonium chloride(PDADMAC)/Poly(sodium-p-styrenesulfonate)(PSS) was coated on the surface of PES membranes. Zeta potential analysis, water contact angle analysis, SEM, AFM and the Ultrafiltration Cup system were used to evaluate the membranes. There are a lot of –SO3- in the molecules of PSS, which are modified at the outside surface of PES membrane. The modified membranes are more negatively charged, which is -35.02mV. The water contact angles decreased from 59.86° for unmodified membranes to 37.99° for the modified membranes. As for the surface morphology, the surface of modified membrane is smoother and the pore size is more uniform than the unmodified membrane. In 120 min filtration of 0.02g/L Humic Acid, the flux decrease rates for the unmodified and modified membranes are 39.4% and 15.5%, respectively. The antifouling ability of modified membrane was enhanced. |
