Literatures on membrane bioreactor (MBR) studied in China were retrieved by using the Chinese Journal Full-Text Database Retrieval (CNKI), WanFang Data, and Chongqing Metrics from 1900 to 2013. In the literatures retrieved, 7515 of them were effective bibliographies. They were statistically analyzed by using bibliometric analysis, aiming at finding out the development status and trend of MBR in China. The literature numbers indicated rapid development of MBR from 103 in 2001, up to 965 in 2012. Afterwards, the numbers increased dramatically. There were 9972 literature authors and 7755 article authors with 255 core authors. There were 10 institutions with more than 100 articles published. Harbin Institute of Technology ranked No. 1 in the number of published articles. The most articles were published in China Water & Wastewater among 733 journals in total. Keywords analysis demonstrated that most articles focused on the researches of membrane fouling. The main form of membrane modules were dynamic membrane, hollow fiber membrane, and flat membrane. Ultrafiltration was the most popular membrane material. MBR is an universal biochemical sewage treatment technology. Significant progress has been made in researches on new type of MBR. In this article, the research status of MBR was made clear and developing trends was analyzed. The results could provide some beneficial references for research and development of MBR in the future. |
